Two simultaneous emergencies in the northern region of Dresden keep fire and rescue teams engaged and responding
In Dresden, Germany, two significant incidents occurred on August 26, 2025. At 15:45, a serious traffic accident took place on Radeberger Landstraße, Dresdner Heide, while between 15:35 and 16:45, a fire incident occurred at Kirchstraße, Langebrück.
On Radeberger Landstraße, a collision involving a Renault and a Volkswagen occurred, resulting in one person being severely injured and trapped in their vehicle. Four other individuals sustained injuries, ranging from minor to severe, and were taken to nearby hospitals by ambulance. The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
The Radeberger Landstraße is currently fully closed in both directions as emergency services work to clear the scene. A total of around 40 firefighters and rescue personnel from various stations were involved in the rescue operation.
Meanwhile, at Kirchstraße, Langebrück, a fire broke out in a balcony power station. The smoke from the incident spread to a basement room in the residential building, and one person inhaled smoke during the incident. The affected person was examined by the rescue service and taken to a hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.
A total of 28 fire and rescue personnel from the Albertstadt, Langebrück, A-Duty, and U-Duty fire departments were involved in managing and extinguishing the blaze and ensuring the safety of the area. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the trapped driver and removed the battery from the building, placing it in a water bath to prevent further danger.
The three people with minor injuries from the fire incident were also taken to nearby hospitals. The severely injured driver from the traffic accident was taken to a hospital as well.
On a separate note, there was also a fire at an unspecified balcony power station, but no details were provided about its location or cause.
