U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo claims that Trump prioritized Pakistan over a robust U.S.-India relationship.

In a stark revelation, Jake Sullivan, former US National Security Advisor, has accused Donald Trump of damaging the US-India relationship for personal gain. Sullivan claimed that Trump's focus on family business and Pakistan business interests caused real damage to the long-standing relationship between the two nations.

Sullivan, who served under President Joe Biden, emphasised that trust is America's greatest strength. He stated that Trump's actions have eroded this trust, potentially harming not only bilateral trust with India but also global credibility.

For decades, Washington has worked tirelessly to build trust with India, a relationship that Sullivan described as being with the world's largest democracy and a natural partner for the US. However, Sullivan warned that Trump's actions, such as threatening steep tariffs on Indian goods and announcing a trade agreement with Islamabad, have created more tension between the two nations.

Sullivan pointed out that Trump's decision to favour Pakistan, despite India's strategic importance, was a "huge strategic harm" to America's global alliances rather than mere politics. He asserted that Trump's actions, including welcoming trade talks with Pakistan and promising help in developing Pakistan's oil reserves, were a deliberate move to benefit his family's ventures, including crypto ventures and energy talks.

This shift, according to Sullivan, benefits rivals like China. He warned that if the US becomes unreliable, India could move closer to Beijing to protect its own interests. Sullivan also cautioned that this uncertainty may push global peers like Germany, Japan, and Canada to hedge against the potential risks.

The company that signed a contract with the Pakistan Crypto Council in April 20XX, a possible connection to the Trump family, remains unidentified in the available search results.

Sullivan stressed that America's global alliances are not just about politics, but about shared values and mutual trust. He warned that losing this trust will harm America's influence across the world. He concluded by stating that US partners may doubt that "our word is our bond" anymore, a sentiment that could have far-reaching consequences for US foreign policy.
