The Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis Police are actively investigating an attempted fraud incident that took place on September 2, at 3:00 PM, in Leo-Fahlenbock-Straße, Kürten-Dürscheid.

According to the police, unknown perpetrators posed as bank employees from Sparkasse and claimed they needed to freeze an elderly woman's credit card due to a large three-digit amount that would be debited from her account. The fraudsters made a phone call to the Kürten resident, confirming the statements of the supposed colleague at the door.
