The automotive industry is abuzz with excitement as MG Motor, a brand under the Chinese conglomerate SAIC Motor, prepares to debut its latest electric offering - the MG4 EV. Set to make its grand entrance on August 5, the MG4 EV is poised to make history as the first mass-produced electric vehicle to feature a semi-solid state battery.
Before its official unveiling, details about the MG4 EV have been trickling out. The vehicle will boast Oppo's smart cockpit, offering an advanced in-car experience. The interior design, too, has been officially revealed, promising a sleek and modern aesthetic.
Leaked images, reportedly from a test drive or possibly a brochure, have given us a sneak peek at the MG4 EV's exterior. The vehicle has been spotted at dealerships ahead of its debut in China, fueling anticipation among auto enthusiasts.
Another exciting development comes from the MG stable. The MG2, a sister model to the MG4 EV, is expected to debut at the Beijing Auto Show at the end of this month. The MG2 will be equipped with two engines: a 1.5LVTI with 78kw@6000rpm and 135nm@4000rpm, and a 1.3 engine. Both engines will be available in automatic or manual transmission.
As for the MG2's pricing, it is estimated to fall between 50,000 and 60,000 RMB. The MG4 EV, on the other hand, is expected to offer a horsepower of 163 and an impressive estimated range of 537km.
The MG4 EV's cabin design has undergone a revision, promising a comfortable and tech-savvy driving experience. The MG2, meanwhile, will share a similar lineage with the Roewe 150, another model produced by SAIC Motor.
