Unidentified drone of suspected Pakistani origin detected flying over military zone in Samba, Jammu and Kashmir
A suspected Pakistani drone was reportedly seen over military installations in the Bari Brahmana garrison area of Samba district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday evening. The drone, detected at a height of over 700 metres, was moving from west to east.
The Army swiftly responded to the incident, deploying quick reaction teams to the area. Simultaneously, the police were informed and joined the search operation to ensure no weapons or narcotics were airdropped.
The joint search operation, aimed at ruling out the possibility of airdropped weapons or narcotics, was carried out on Friday night. According to officials, the search operation was conducted on Saturday as well. The information about the operation was reported by PTI.
The sighting of the suspected drone, allegedly controlled by Pakistani terrorists, has raised concerns about cross-border infiltration. The incident occurred around 9.35 pm on Friday. The drone incident and subsequent search operation have been a topic of discussion in the region.
