Ingolstadt, Germany - A suicide prevention action is taking place today, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Ingolstadt Town Hall Square. The event, under the patronage of Mayor Dr. Michael Kern, is a joint effort between Organization SpDi and various network partners, including Caritas (Counseling Center for Mental Health), Team Inclusion of the City of Ingolstadt, the Oberbayern Psychiatric Crisis Service, the mental health network "Kulturbeutel," and "Mental Health First Aid" (MHFA).
The action aims to promote more openness in dealing with mental health, contribute to the destigmatization of suicide in society, and highlight concrete support offers. Sixty-two T-shirts will be laid out on the town hall square to symbolize the people who died by suicide in the region last year.
The event will pause to remember those who have died by suicide. There will be an opportunity to talk about the topic of suicidal ideation. Information stands will be present on the town hall square, showcasing the offers of the participating services.
The crisis services of Bavaria, the steering committee for mental health of the city of Ingolstadt and the districts, the district of Upper Bavaria, the city of Ingolstadt's inclusion officer with the working group on mental health of the inclusion council, and the Press Office/Caritas Association for the Diocese of Eichstätt e.V. Beratungsstelle für psychische Gesundheit mit gerontopsychiatrischem Fachbereich are the organizers of the action.
The action is aimed at preventing suicides and is part of a joint effort to combat the stigma surrounding mental health issues. The event will start at 11:00, with Mayor Dr. Michael Kern opening the event with a greeting. The duration of the action is not specified in the text.
