In the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict, several significant developments have taken place in recent days.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the possibility of exiting Russian oil with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, signalling a potential shift in Ukraine's energy policy. Meanwhile, US President Trump has expressed his intention to speak to Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future, but no preparations for talks between the two leaders are currently underway, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov.

On the economic front, Western companies, including ExxonMobil, are reportedly considering a return to Russia, particularly in sectors where Russia remains dependent on foreign technology. This includes oil technology, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, and electronics. Simultaneously, Russia is open to resource cooperation with the USA in Alaska, as stated by President Putin.

The conflict has taken a toll on civilian lives, with Russian soldiers reportedly killing five people in the Donetsk region on Thursday. Tragically, two mine sweepers from the Danish Refugee Council were killed in a Russian missile attack in northern Ukraine. In a separate incident, an attack on the eastern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv resulted in three fatalities and two injuries.

On the diplomatic front, Zelensky has discussed the deployment of thousands of foreign soldiers for security guarantees after the war. 26 states have expressed their interest in participating in a possible peacekeeping mission within the "Coalition of the Willing." Ruslan Stefanchuk, the chairman of the Ukrainian parliament, has spoken with Roberta Metzola, the president of the European Parliament, about intensifying sanctions against Russia.

Russia is reportedly ready to talk to US company Westinghouse about nuclear fuel at the Ukrainian nuclear power plant in Zaporizhzhia. However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov has stated that foreign military cannot provide security guarantees for Ukraine.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has opposed a public debate on a potential German contribution to peacekeeping troops in Ukraine. In contrast, European veterans are playing an increasingly significant role in developing defense technology for Ukraine.

Amidst the ongoing conflict, US President Trump has expressed growing pessimism about the prospects of a quick end to the war. The USA is reportedly planning to end military assistance for European states near Russia, according to US media outlets.

In a surprising turn of events, the Kremlin has confirmed the deployment of North Korean troops, but downplayed their involvement, stating they are not being used on Ukrainian territory, but only on Russian territory.

Lastly, Russian President Vladimir Putin described the trade policy of former US President Donald Trump as harmful to the world economy. This statement comes amidst the ongoing economic and political tensions between the two nations.

The situation in Ukraine remains complex and fluid, with both diplomatic and military efforts ongoing to find a resolution to the conflict.
