In the early hours of Sunday, an alleged illegal street race took place in the district of Mainz-Kastel, Wiesbaden. The incident occurred on the streets of Mainz-Kastel, not in the city of Mainz as previously reported.

According to witnesses, two cars were speeding down the street, alternately overtaking other road users on the left and right. The police were called to the scene and managed to intercept both vehicles and the young men driving them just before the Rhine bridge into Mainz.

One of the drivers, a 22-year-old, was found to be driving without a valid driver's license. Both men and their vehicles were pulled off the road by the police.

No further details about the identity of the young men or the cars involved have been provided, except that they will have to give up their cars temporarily. Proceedings have been initiated against both men involved in the street race.

The police stated that the two cars were participating in the illegal street race. This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers and consequences of such reckless behaviour on public roads. The police continue to urge drivers to adhere to traffic rules and regulations for the safety of all road users.
