Unlawful Incidents Reported by Polish Law Enforcement
Last Thursday, an incident of domestic violence was reported in the Western Ring Area of Braunschweig. According to the Braunschweig Police, the case involved a woman in Poland who reported that her daughter living in Germany was being held captive, threatened, and injured by her partner.
The suspected perpetrator, identified as Christian B., a 48-year-old German, is currently under investigation for rape and violent bodily harm. Mr. B. has a history of convictions for rape and was previously suspected in the Madeleine McCann case, but was acquitted in 2024 due to lack of evidence. He is currently serving a sentence related to rape.
The 28-year-old daughter, who was found in police custody, was released after consultation with the public prosecutor's office and a judge at the local court. The release does not indicate that the initial allegations of domestic violence and injury have been dropped. The Braunschweig police are still actively investigating the case.
Initial investigations confirmed the suspicion of physical injury. Both the daughter and the suspected perpetrator were found in the apartment. The Braunschweig police were requested to assist in the case by the Polish police.
The man's release does not affect the ongoing cooperation between the Braunschweig police and the Polish police. The ongoing investigation may involve charges beyond those initially suspected.
