Breitling Becomes Official Timekeeper for the NFL, Introduces Exclusive Watch Collection
Swiss luxury watchmaker Breitling has made a bold move by securing an exclusive partnership with the National Football League (NFL), becoming the official timekeeper and unveiling a collection of special models for each of the 32 NFL teams.
This partnership places Breitling on par with Omega at the Olympic Games and Rolex in tennis in terms of sports sponsorships. The new multi-year agreement is a strong signal to American fans and a clever move as the USA is considered one of the last growth markets for Swiss watches.
The Breitling NFL collection features two new watch lines: the Chronomat GMT and the Endurance Pro. The Chronomat GMT, priced around 6,500 euros, is an automatic, COSC-certified chronograph with a second time zone and 200 meters water resistance, housed in a stainless steel case. Each Chronomat model features the team colors on the dial and hands, and the team logo is engraved on the case back.
The Endurance Pro, priced around 4,400 euros, is a more sporty watch, coming in a 44-millimeter titanium case with a robust quartz chronograph. The Endurance Pro features a dial prominently displaying the team logo at six o'clock, along with a pulsometer scale and a rotating compass bezel.
Breitling CEO Georges Kern stated that this partnership emphasizes the importance of the U.S. market for the brand. He added, "Football is now part of Breitling's lifestyle, as we want to be part of it."
The partnership comes despite high import duties on Swiss luxury goods, demonstrating Breitling's commitment to the American market. The Breitling NFL collection is now available in Breitling boutiques and online.
This marks the first time a luxury watch brand has held such a position with the NFL. The Endurance Pro, with its expressive design, is an ideal choice for game days, while the Chronomat GMT offers a more traditional yet sophisticated option for watch enthusiasts.
The new partnership between Breitling and the NFL is a testament to the growing appeal of luxury watches in the sports world and the increasing importance of the U.S. market for Swiss watchmakers.
