Speeding Crackdown on Oldenburg-Nord Highway Interchange

The Oldenburg highway police conducted a speed control operation on the Oldenburg-Nord highway interchange towards Wilhelmshaven this morning, resulting in several drivers facing hefty fines, points in Flensburg, and driving bans.

According to the Police Station Oldenburg-Stadt / Ammerland, one driver was recorded at a speed of 194 km/h, significantly exceeding the permitted maximum speed of 120 km/h (which reduces to 100 km/h further along). This driver, along with two others who were recorded at speeds of 176 km/h and 159 km/h, can expect substantial penalties for their actions.

A total of 90 vehicles were measured with a speed excess during the controls, which took place from 07:30 to approximately 11:00. Many of these drivers also face administrative offence proceedings, sometimes combined with points in Flensburg and driving bans.

The police continue to remind that excessive speed is one of the main causes of severe traffic accidents. The Oldenburg-Stadt / Ammerland police station encourages all road users to adhere to speed limits and prioritise safety on the roads.
