The meeting will delve into the record-breaking achievements of 2024, including a 9.4% year-over-year increase in total lodging revenues, setting Alexandria apart from its regional competitive set.
The event will also reveal that Alexandria's tourism spending from travellers residing more than 50 miles away grew by an impressive 17.6% to a record $941 million in calendar year 2023. This growth contributes significantly to the city's economy, with an estimated 71% of consumption taxes being paid by non-residents.
In fact, the city's consumption tax revenues (sales, meals, and lodging) reached a record $86 million in Fiscal Year 2024, marking a 30% increase over pre-pandemic levels.
