Unveiled is the number of bear hunts conducted in Belarus
Belarus has reopened bear hunting after nearly a 50-year pause, and the excitement is building for the upcoming hunting season. Here's a breakdown of the key details for both local and international hunters.
For citizens of other countries, the minimum permit fee for bear hunting is Br1000. However, Belarusian and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) citizens can obtain a permit at a reduced rate of Br500. It's important to note that each hunter must also pay at least Br5 in addition to the minimum fee.
Auctions for hunting permits are different from the lottery. The starting sum for bear hunting at auctions is Br2000, with bids increasing by 10% from the initial cost. For example, an auction bid increase of Br200 would result in a total payment of at least Br10,000 by the hunter. Applications for participation in the auction are accepted until September 9.
The lottery for hunting rights is organized by RGOO "BOOR". The next lottery will take place on September 9 at 10:00 AM. The right to hunt in the upcoming lottery will be granted only to participants who have not won before. Participation in the lottery is not allowed without the required hunting experience.
The organizer of the Bear Hunt Lottery in Belarus is the Public Association "Belarusian Society of Hunters and Fishermen" (RGOO "BOOR"). The updated list of participants and the event link will be published in the "Hunting" section and the official Telegram channel of RGOO "BOOR".
A 30% limit of the bear harvest will be sold through hunting tours for Belarusian citizens via an auction on September 11 at 11:00 AM. Approximately 20 bears are planned for harvesting in 2025, with the same number of permits (20) being issued. Hunters with more than three years of hunting experience can hunt from July 1 to December 31, 2025.
