Upcoming Artificial Intelligence Workforce Convention in Windsor
The AI Workforce Summit, a funded project under the Local Workforce Planning Board program, is set to take place on Thursday, September 18 at Caesars Windsor. This event, supported by Ontario's Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD), is hosted by Workforce WindsorEssex, WEtech Alliance, and Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island.
The summit aims to help employers, workforce professionals, small-business owners, and service providers harness the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace. It offers beginner and advanced breakout tracks, including "Getting Started with AI Tools", "Building with AI - No-Code Tools & Automation", "AI in Small Business & Nonprofits", and "AI & the Future of Work".
Dwayne Matthews, a futurist and innovation evangelist, will deliver the opening keynote address, exploring the impact of AI on industries, communities, and daily life. The afternoon keynote will be delivered by Andrea Irina Yzeiri, focusing on the ethical and privacy considerations every organization must address as AI tools become more embedded in operations.
The "Getting Started with AI Tools" track features beginner-friendly, hands-on demonstrations of tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Canva AI. The "Building with AI - No-Code Tools & Automation" session focuses on AI-first thinking, automation, and privacy-focused platforms for intermediate to advanced attendees. The "AI in Small Business & Nonprofits" track provides practical strategies for lean teams to integrate AI. The "AI & the Future of Work" breakout track discusses how AI is reshaping jobs, skills, and workforce development.
The summit will also feature expert-led workshops, interactive breakout sessions, and networking opportunities. The agenda includes a panel discussion, networking lunch, exhibitor showcase, and "Community Voices" lightning talks from local AI innovators across multiple industries.
