Victor Boniface's plans for a move away from Bayer Leverkusen have taken a turn, with AC Milan reportedly deciding against signing the striker after a series of medical checks.

The German club's sporting director, Simon Rolfes, hinted at the tight situation for Boniface's regular playing time, as Leverkusen typically field one striker. Rolfes also stated that if Boniface were to return, the topic of his potential move to Milan would be resolved.

However, Milan apparently had reservations about Boniface's injury history, having previously decided against him due to similar concerns. Boniface has had two ACL injuries in his career, and last season, he struggled with muscle problems and had to sit out several times during the preseason.

The reported loan deal between AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen for Boniface included a loan fee of five million euros, with an option to buy him for 24 million euros. Boniface himself had been interested in a transfer since the beginning of the year, and the planned move to Al-Nassr fell through.

Following the failed transfer to Milan, AC Milan is reportedly targeting Conrad Harder from Sporting Lisbon as their new striker. Leverkusen has not yet commented on the matter of Boniface's potential move to AC Milan or the reported loan deal.

Boniface traveled to Italy on Friday, reportedly undergoing four medical examinations by Saturday evening. Rolfes also stated that he does not believe a renegotiation of the transfer will happen.

Boniface's first year at Bayer saw him lose his position as the first-choice striker to Patrik Schick. It remains to be seen where his future lies, as Leverkusen has not yet commented on his plans for the upcoming season.
