Upwork Introduces Advanced AI Features in Fall 2024 Product Update
Upwork, the world's leading freelance marketplace, has announced its Fall 2024 product release, bringing a host of new tools, features, and partnerships to its platform. The goal is to make Upwork the premier destination for on-demand work outcomes, using AI to deliver faster and better work results for customers.
One of the key highlights of the release is the enhancement of Upwork's AI-powered assistant, Uma. Uma will now power Managed Services, Upwork's fully managed project solution. This means Uma will be able to scope projects, evaluate necessary skills, and assemble expert teams faster. For freelancers, Uma can generate tailored proposal drafts using AI models trained on successful proposals.
Upwork has also partnered with Venmo to provide U.S. clients with more payment options, making it faster and easier to pay freelancers for their work. This is in addition to partnerships with third-party technology providers like Lettuce and Ocoya, which will integrate fully-managed services directly into their platforms.
To help businesses find the right freelancers for their projects, Uma will identify top freelancers based on project requirements and evaluate proposals through side-by-side comparisons of professionals' skills and experience. Upwork has also added new partners to its Partner Experts Program, including Webflow, General Assembly, Bubble, and Smartsheet, allowing clients to connect with experts experienced in these technologies.
Upwork's new feature, Job Success Insights, gives freelancers detailed insights into their Job Success Score (JSS), including tips to improve their reputation on the platform. Freelancers can also boost their profile's visibility in search results and job recommendations with the new Boosted Profiles, a paid feature that also allows for video introductions.
For businesses looking for guaranteed project outcomes, such as building websites or generating sales leads, these updates are designed to provide better, faster outcomes in a rapidly evolving work environment. Upwork has also introduced a new plan called Upwork Business Plus, offering clients instant access to pre-screened top 1% freelancers, personalized support, and simplified billing options.
To meet clients' growing AI needs, Upwork's Managed Services, available through Upwork Enterprise, now offer AI-powered services. Upwork has also partnered with Accenture, Deloitte, and KPMG as partners for its Fall 2024 product launch to integrate fully managed services directly into their platforms.
In a statement, Upwork's President and CEO, Hayden Brown, emphasized the impact of AI on the work marketplace: "Our Fall 2024 product release is a testament to our commitment to leveraging AI to deliver faster and better work results for our customers. We are excited to continue leading the way in the on-demand work marketplace and helping businesses and freelancers achieve their goals."
