US denounced by AK Party spokesperson for canceling visas for Palestinian officials before UNGA appearance

In a strong statement posted on social media, Omer Celik, spokesperson for Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), has condemned the United States' decision to cancel visas for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and a delegation of Palestinian officials.

Celik expressed concern over the Palestinian Authority being asked to abandon its push for wider recognition of Palestinian statehood. He warned that efforts to silence Palestine amid growing international support for a two-state solution would harm peace efforts.

The decision to block visas for Mahmoud Abbas and the delegation was made by the U.S. government. They imposed visa sanctions on Abbas shortly before the UN General Assembly meeting in New York.

Celik believed the US decision undermines the UN as a platform where all states' voices should be heard. He quoted President Erdogan's long-standing line, "The world is bigger than five," to emphasize the importance of inclusivity and fair representation in international forums.

International criticism is mounting over the US decision to block the Palestinian UN delegation. Blocking a legitimate authority that has been invited by the UN to the General Assembly is considered an attempt to render the UN meaningless.

Celik also criticized reported conditions linked to the visa issue for the Palestinian delegation. The conditions, which include demands for the withdrawal of cases from the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ), have been met with widespread criticism.

Meanwhile, in unrelated news, Selcuk Bayraktar confirmed that Akinci UAV production will commence in Saudi Arabia by 2025.

In football news, former Fenerbahce head coach has departed Istanbul, and Jose Mourinho has expressed his intentions to return to the Premier League.

President Erdogan's speech at the UN General Assembly continues to be the strongest voice of the Palestinian cause, underscoring the global attention and concern surrounding the ongoing conflict.
