User can now modify, stylize, and adjust photos effortlessly using a single text command on the Gemini app, process explained here.
Google has unveiled a groundbreaking image editing model, named Gemini 2.5 Flash Image and codenamed "Nano Banana", developed by its research subsidiary DeepMind. This innovative technology is now integrated into the Gemini app, offering an array of new features to users.
One of the key highlights of the new model is its support for multi-step or "multi-turn" editing. This allows users to iteratively modify different elements within the same image, making it easier to refine and perfect their creations. An example of multi-step editing could be repainting the walls of a digital room, then adding furniture, paintings, and more, without losing earlier adjustments.
The new model also enables users to transfer visual styles across objects. For instance, users can apply the texture of flower petals to clothing or borrow patterns from one image to redesign another. Background changes and costume alterations are possible, while retaining the subject's original appearance.
Google aims to improve the consistency of how the app represents people, pets, and familiar subjects during edits. The update should reduce inconsistencies that often result in inaccuracies, particularly when editing hair, outfits, expressions, and more.
All images produced or edited via the Gemini app will now carry a visible watermark. In addition, an invisible SynthID digital watermark will be added to identify AI-generated images.
Users can upload multiple photos and blend them into a single image using the new model. The new features of the model have not been mentioned in relation to the Apple iPhone 16 Plus price drop or the iPhone 17 series launch.
Ashish Singh, the Chief Copy Editor at the platform, has been working with tech jargon since 2020. He has previously worked at Times Internet and Jagran English. However, it's important to clarify that Ashish Singh's current role does not involve policing advertisements, and he is not mentioned to have any connection with the Apple iPhone 16 Plus price drop or the iPhone 17 series launch.
The update will be available starting today, offering users a new and exciting way to edit and create pictures with a single prompt. The model maintains the likeness when making changes to photos, making it a valuable tool for both amateur and professional photographers alike.
