Vehicle Accident in EU: Pedestrian Struck by a Motorist

On the evening of July 24, a traffic accident occurred on Münstereifeler Straße in Euskirchen, resulting in an 11-year-old pedestrian being injured.

The accident happened at around 7:25 PM when the driver, a 20-year-old resident of Euskirchen, was turning left onto the Eifelring from Münstereifeler Straße. Despite the driver's emergency braking, the collision between the driver and the child could not be avoided.

The child was crossing Münstereifeler Straße at a pedestrian crossing and had a green light. Tragically, the driver failed to notice the child, leading to the unfortunate incident.

The child, who is currently visiting Germany, was immediately taken to a hospital by ambulance. Fortunately, the driver was not injured in the accident.

The Circles Police Department Euskirchen is investigating the exact cause of the accident. The traffic commission of the Euskirchen police has taken up the investigation.
