Vehicle Inflammation on Schloßallee - Fire Department of Bocholt responding to incident
In an unexpected incident on Saturday evening, a tow truck caught fire on Schloßallee in Bocholt, Germany. The Bocholt Fire Department was alerted to the scene at 19:53 and responded promptly with 10 personnel and 4 vehicles.
Upon arrival, the tow truck was fully engulfed in flames, and the adjacent grass strip had also caught fire. The driver, who was alerted to the fire by attentive cyclists, was able to stop the tow truck and exit safely without injury. However, the driver's attempts to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher were unsuccessful.
The Bocholt Fire Department fought the blaze using heavy breathing apparatus and a C-jet nozzle. The lower water authority of the Borken district and the Bocholt city ordinance office were called in due to the use of water during the firefighting efforts. The affected area was treated with an oil-binding agent to prevent further environmental harm.
Andreas Kuhlmann, the head of the Bocholt fire command, was responsible for the operation management at the car fire. The grass strip adjacent to the vehicle fire was also extinguished. A contracted disposal company will collect and dispose of the contaminated material professionally.
The Bocholt Fire Department urges everyone to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities or fires immediately. For more information or to contact the Bocholt Fire Department, please visit their website at www.bocholt.de/feuerwehr or contact Julian Busch at 02871 2103-0 or [email protected].
