The Duchess of Kent, Katharine, has passed away at the age of 92 on September 4, 2025, at Kensington Palace. Her death was announced by Buckingham Palace with deep sorrow on September 5, 2025.
Katharine Worsley became a member of the royal family when she married Prince Edward, Queen Elizabeth's cousin, in 1961. She was a much-loved member of the family and will be greatly missed.
In a heartfelt note, Prince William and Kate Middleton expressed their condolences to The Duke of Kent and his family, specifically George, Helen, and Nicholas. The note, signed off with the "W & C" initials, was a personal message that featured the couple's joint monogram.
