Vibrant Eye-Themed Graffiti Workshop Unfolds at Arnsberg Station

In the picturesque town of Arnsberg, a unique and engaging vacation programme captivated the attention of local residents and visitors alike. Over four days, a family office, the local youth fire brigade, and the Arnsberg Fire History Association e.V. collaborated to bring two breathtaking graffiti art projects to life near the train station.

The highlight of the programme was a tour of "Brennpunkt", a hands-on museum, which offered participants a chance to immerse themselves in the history of fire up close and personal. The workshops were expertly guided by graffiti artists Motte & Lök from Soest, who led the participants in creating stunning artwork on a 32 x 4-meter wall and a WC container adjacent to the train station.

The artwork at the museum and the WC container serve as optical enhancements for the train station area, adding a vibrant and inviting touch to the town. The style and color scheme of the WC container are reminiscent of the artwork at the museum, creating a harmonious and cohesive aesthetic.

The project was made possible by the cultural office of the city of Arnsberg, which provided funding for urban arts (art in public space). The workshops attracted a mix of youth fire brigade members and other interested parties, with a total of 16 children and young people gaining their first experiences in spraying.

During the workshop days, the Arnsberg Fire History Association e.V. provided catering, serving a warm lunch daily to the participants, graffiti artists, and supervisors. The culmination of the programme saw a visit from the mayor of Arnsberg, Ralf Paul Bittner, who admired the (not yet completely finished) artwork.

All those involved are proud of their work and hope that the two artworks will be preserved for a long time, serving as a testament to the creativity and passion of the participants and the artists involved. The transformation of the train station area into a real eye-catcher with Arnsberg landmarks is a lasting reminder of this unique and memorable vacation programme.
