In a surprising turn of events, the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia has announced the detention and elimination of saboteurs allegedly involved in a series of railway track bombings in the Belgorod region.

According to the FSB's statement, members of the Ukrainian DRG (Deutsche Rettungsgesellschaft) are believed to be responsible for the bombings that occurred in 2024. Three more individuals have been detained and are currently confessing their involvement in these incidents.

The location of the bombings was in the Belgorod region, a border area that has seen increased tensions between Russia and Ukraine. The FSB did not disclose further details about the specific locations where the explosions took place.

The alleged training of DRG members, according to the FSB, occurred primarily between 2014 and 2020 in Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, and Norway. It is alleged that these trainings were conducted by Western intelligence officers.

The detained individuals were apprehended in the Bryansk region, a region bordering Belarus and Ukraine. The FSB did not reveal the exact number of individuals detained, but it is known that three saboteurs were reportedly eliminated during the operation.

The bombings in the Belgorod region have caused significant disruptions to the region's transportation network, leading to delays and cancellations of numerous trains. The FSB's announcement has raised concerns about the escalating tensions between Russia and Ukraine and the potential for further acts of sabotage.

As the investigation continues, more details about the alleged involvement of the Ukrainian DRG in the railway track bombings are expected to emerge. The FSB has vowed to bring those responsible to justice and to ensure the safety and security of the Russian people.
