Violent assault resulting from physical attacks involving striking and battering
A dangerous assault occurred in Märkisches Viertel this morning, leaving two elderly individuals injured.
At around 8:30 AM, a 33-year-old attacker launched a violent attack at a kiosk on Wesendorfer Straße. The assault was witnessed by a passerby, who was struck on the head and arm by the attacker, who used a knuckleduster. The passerby was taken to the hospital for outpatient treatment and has since been released.
The 64-year-old customer and the 72-year-old kiosk owner were also victims of the attack. They were hospitalised but have now been discharged following treatment for their injuries.
The attacker did not get away unscathed. He sustained a severe hand injury during the events and also damaged an elevator window at a multi-family building on Senftenberger Ring, where he fled after the assault.
The police have launched an investigation into the assault and the subsequent events. The attacker was reported to have used abusive language during the assault and also struck a 43-year-old passerby with manhole covers before fleeing.
