Volkshochschule Unveils Its 2025-2026 Annual Education Schedule
The Volkshochschule Gütersloh has announced the release of its annual program for the year 2025/26. The brochure is now available in print and online at www.vhs-gt.de, with registrations now open.
The Adult Education Center of Gütersloh kicks off the program year on August 2025. The center offers a diverse range of educational opportunities in various fields, including languages, culture, society, health, sustainability, and digitalization.
One of the highlights of the program is the collaboration with the German-French Society and the German-Polish Society of Gütersloh, which enriches the program with cultural and linguistic focuses. This collaboration promises to provide a unique blend of German and international perspectives.
In the Career and Digital area, participants can expect to learn about current developments in the world of work. Practical offers on Artificial Intelligence, Content Marketing, and career reorientation are just a few examples of what's in store.
The center addresses the topic of Russian Germans with Ira Peter's "German Enough? - Why We Finally Need to Talk About Russian Germans". This event is sure to spark important discussions and foster a deeper understanding of this community.
Literature enthusiasts can look forward to events celebrating Thomas Mann's 150th birthday. The center also hosts the book premiere of "The Book You Should Have Read Before Becoming a Single Parent" by Sara Buschmann, with Marion Detjen presiding over the event.
Global issues and local topics relevant in Gütersloh, such as fair trade and street lighting shutdown, are also covered in the program. The center offers practical suggestions for a more environmentally conscious daily life, such as sustainable travel, upcycling, vegan nutrition, or e-mobility.
The Health and Personality focus area includes the project "Gütersloh Clarifies - Expanding Health Competence," funded by the Innovation Fund of the state of NRW. This project offers over 70 free events.
Educational vacations are significantly expanded, with international online visits enabling virtual encounters with countries in Europe and overseas. City tours will now be offered in Ukrainian and Easy-to-Read language, among others, making the program more accessible to a wider audience.
The program also includes events for political education, law, finance, housing, and city tours. Low-threshold digital participation formats are provided, such as within the Smart City project "Digital Test City," benefiting elderly people and people with disabilities.
Cultural education expands with new offerings like bicycle excursions to Kunsthaus Rietberg and workshops on acrylic painting, paper cutting, and drone photography.
The language program offers courses in 21 languages, with English having 88 courses, including the new "Turbo English B1" for apprentices.
The Volkshochschule Gütersloh aims to be an open learning and meeting space for people from diverse backgrounds. The program includes readings, discussion formats, and anniversary events, such as the celebration of the 35-year existence of the women's counseling center.
With approximately 300 courses available on resilience, movement, relaxation, nutrition, and personality development, with special offerings for people with limitations, the 2025/26 program promises to be an exciting and enriching journey for all who participate.
