Volunteer Workers' Training Scheduled for October 16th
The Landshut district is offering a unique opportunity for individuals who wish to make a difference in their community. On Thursday, 16th October 2025, a training session will take place at Ahornhof Ergolding, Bargrabenstraße 8, 84030 Ergolding, from 09:00 to 16:00.
This training, which is free of charge, is intended for residents of the Landshut district and is a part of the district authority's cooperation with the Fachstelle für Demenz und Pflege Niederbayern and the market Ergolding. It follows the requirements of § 82 Abs. 4 Satz 2 Nr. 1 AVSG.
Volunteers who complete this training can provide a variety of services to individuals in need of care (care level 1) at home. These tasks include accompanying individuals to doctor's appointments, administrative tasks, cooking, shopping, household chores, and organizing daily care.
To engage in volunteer daily support, one must be at least 16 years old, not be related to the person in need of care up to the second degree, or live in the same household. It is also recommended that volunteers have a private liability and accident insurance.
Participation in this training is necessary to be recognized as a volunteer by the care insurance. The training will equip volunteers with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide effective support.

Since January 1, 2021, private individuals have been able to volunteer to support people in need of care at home. This training represents a significant step towards enabling more volunteers to make a positive impact in their local community.
