Voting for the Council Membership
The city of Detmold has announced a series of information events leading up to the Integration Council elections, scheduled for September. These events will provide valuable insights into the role of the Integration Council, the election process, and opportunities for participation.
Starting from May 14th, the first event will take place at the Reconciliation Church on Hiddeser Berg, Martin-Luther-Straße 39, at 5:30 PM. Another event is scheduled for June 11th at the city portal's meeting center, Paulinenstraße 65, also at 5:30 PM. Further details can be found on the Integration Council Elections subpage.
The series of events will continue on May 15th at the Kleingaertnerverein Kampwiese in Detmold-Herberhausen and June 12th at the AWO in Heidenoldendorf in the old primary school, Niedernfeldweg 6.
The Integration Council, an elected municipal committee in Detmold, advises the council and administration, organizes its own events, and cooperates with the state integration council. Common topics for the Integration Council include anti-discrimination work, educational themes for children with an immigration background, and dialogue between cultures.
Eligible to vote in the Integration Council election are foreign nationals, stateless persons, naturalized persons, Germans with dual citizenship, and Germans who have acquired citizenship by birth in Germany. Residents of any origin, aged at least 18 and having their primary residence in Detmold for at least three months, can be elected to the Integration Council.

The Integration Council represents the interests of Detmold residents with an immigration background. The first Integration Council was elected five years ago, and this year, residents have the opportunity to participate in the democratic process and shape the future of the city's integration efforts.
