The local elections in Bonn are fast approaching, and here's what you need to know.
Deadlines
The deadline for applying for postal voting is Monday, 8th September. If you wish to vote in person, you can submit your postal voting application at the voting offices until Friday, 12th September, 15:00. Online applications are possible until Wednesday, 10th September, 12:00.
Polling Station Changes
Several polling stations have been moved due to various reasons. Polling station District 033 has been moved to Stadthaus Foyer behind the info, Berliner Platz 2 (previously City Meeting Point St. Aegidius). District 011 has been moved to Altes Rathaus, Markt 2 (previously Memorial Site/NS Documentation Centre). Districts 091 and 094 have both been moved to Matthias-Claudius-School, Magdalenenstraße 6 (previously Parish Centre St. Maria Magdalena).
However, polling stations that temporarily moved due to carnival events in 2025 have now returned to their original locations. These include Districts 241, 242, 253, 414, and 424. Polling station Districts 332, 333, and 334 are located in the Integrated Comprehensive School Bonn-Beuel.
Voting Information
On election day, voters are advised to bring their ID card or passport, and if possible, their voting notification. Access via Siegburger Straße is free for all voters during the Pützchens Markt event, but controls are carried out at the street closures, requiring voters to present their ID card or voting notification.
Results and Counting
The counting of the Integrationsratswahl votes will take place on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 9 am in the council chamber of the Stadthaus. The results of the local elections will be published at www.bonn.de/wahlen from 6 pm on election day. Live updates from individual polling districts will be published online during the counting process.
As of now, approximately 64,000 postal voting applications have been made by eligible voters in Bonn. Around 37,500 of the issued postal ballot papers have been returned to the electoral office, with approximately 2,700 returned postal votes from those who applied for postal voting for the Integrationsratswahl.
