Warrant Issued for 35-year-old's Arrest: Spent 100 Days in Jail Following Execution
In a recent development, a 35-year-old man from Magdeburg was arrested by the Federal Police Inspectorate Magdeburg on January 12, 2023. The arrest comes after the man was wanted by an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Potsdam since mid-December 2022.
The man was convicted by the Amtsgericht Brandenburg an der Havel in May 2022 for insulting several people. The sentence for his conviction was a fine of 1,500 euros or 100 days in prison. However, despite being summoned, the man neither paid the fine nor surrendered to serve his sentence.
On the day of his arrest, federal police officers checked the man at Magdeburg Central Station. Upon discovery of the arrest warrant, they took him into custody and took him to the station. The man was then taken to Burg Prison as he could not pay the required amount.
