Week 1 injury status of Cowboys' Trevon Diggs remains ambiguous in his latest update
Trevon Diggs' Return to the Dallas Cowboys Remains Uncertain
Trevon Diggs, the Dallas Cowboys' cornerback, is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list after suffering a knee injury last season. The exact return date for Diggs has not been officially announced yet, but he has been making progress with his rehab work.
Diggs has been doing most of his rehab work in South Florida this offseason, and he expressed his desire to return to the field as soon as possible. However, he did not provide specific details about his timetable for return. He did mention that he feels "way better than I should feel."
The team docked Diggs $500,000 from his contract for not rehabbing mostly in the team's facility, but Diggs believes the decision about his return to action will be a mutual one between him and the team. If Diggs remains on the PUP list, he will miss the first four games of the season.
It is unclear when Diggs will practice again, but his return to practice will provide more insight into his playing status. Diggs has targeted a return to play by Week 2 or Week 3, but it is unclear if he will be the one to decide when he returns to action.
Diggs spoke with reporter Clarence Hill Jr. before the Cowboys' preseason finale win against the Atlanta Falcons, where he expressed his excitement to get back on the field. His game plan for the Cowboys' opening season game against the Eagles remains unclear.
In the meantime, the Cowboys will be looking for other players to step up in Diggs' absence. Fans will be eagerly awaiting news of Diggs' return to practice and his potential return to action in Week 4 or beyond.
