Weekend activities at the customs office
On Saturday, 30.8., the LWL Museum Zeche Zollern in Dortmund is hosting a series of fascinating tours for all ages.
Under the motto "Castle of Labor", visitors can explore the architecture of the mine and delve into the daily work of the miners. This guided tour, led by the Zeche Zollern Guides, offers a unique insight into the history of mining.
For families, there's a special treat! A family tour is scheduled for 2 pm, providing an engaging and educational experience for children of all ages. This tour is included in the museum entrance fee, which is 8 euros for adults and free for children.
For the little adventurers, there's a treasure hunt in the exhibition "Das ist kolonial." Accompanied by the clever spider "Anansi", children aged seven and above can participate in this exciting event. Please note that participation in the treasure hunt requires an adult.
The exhibition "Das ist kolonial." explores the lives of black people in Westphalia during the colonial era, shedding light on an important and often overlooked aspect of history.
In addition, guided tours through the underground world "Montanium" and over the day shift facilities are available at 11.30 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Please note that the Montanium tour costs an additional 2 euros, while all other tours are included in the entrance fee.
The museum also emphasizes the importance of discussing the topic of colonialism together, encouraging open and honest dialogue about this significant part of history.
