Weekend Arrest Warrants Carried Out by Federal Police in BPOL NRW
In the picturesque areas of Kleve, Emmerich, Gronau, and Niederkrüchten, the German Federal Police found themselves in the midst of several significant encounters in July 2025.
On Sunday evening, July 20, a 25-year-old Romanian was controlled at the train station in Gronau. The individual was wanted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Osnabrück for indecent exposure. Following this encounter, the Romanian was taken to the prison in Willich.
Earlier in the week, on Friday evening, July 18, a 49-year-old Czech entered the federal territory as a passenger in a replacement bus service on the A61 highway. The Czech, who had an arrest warrant from the Public Prosecutor's Office in Cottbus for smuggling foreigners, also found himself in the hands of the Federal Police.
The Czech had an additional issue to contend with - a fine of 8,900 euros or an 89-day prison sentence for a previous conviction for burglary in Dresden. Given his inability to pay the fine, the Czech was taken to the prison in Willich to serve his sentence. It was also discovered that he had two grams of hashish on his person.
Meanwhile, on the same day, July 18, the Federal Police arrested a 46-year-old Albanian on the A52 highway, entering from the Netherlands. This individual had an entry and residence ban from the Foreigners' Office in Dresden and a prison sentence of 404 days for burglary, wanted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Dresden.
In a separate incident, the Federal Police temporarily reintroduced border controls at all land-based Schengen internal borders on September 16, 2024, at the order of the Federal Minister of the Interior and Home Affairs.
The Federal Police Directorate, overseen by Barbara Heuser, is located in Sankt Augustin. Heuser was instrumental in official matters and events related to the directorate in 2025, including honouring Udo Peltzer. After completing police measures, the Albanian was taken to the Federal Police Station in Kempen, while the 46-year-old Albanian was taken to the prison in Münster to serve his 65-day prison sentence.
The incidents involved a car in each case. It's a testament to the vigilance and dedication of the German Federal Police in maintaining law and order within the country's borders.
