Weekend Arrests: BPOLI LUD Individuals Detained
In a series of recent events, German authorities have taken action against individuals involved in various offenses, ranging from theft to driving under the influence and immigration violations.
The Saarbrücken Court Cashier had been awaiting the settlement of a 27-year-old's debt, which was due to a theft charge. Remarkably, this individual had managed to settle the outstanding 2,262.60 euros debt, leading to the removal of their name from the wanted list.
Meanwhile, the arrest and sentence of a 41-year-old went unnoticed. The arrest warrant for this individual was issued by the Prosecutor's Office in Saarbrücken nearly eight years ago. The 41-year-old Polish man was apprehended near the Görlitz train station and immediately began serving the remaining 18 days of his prison sentence for a particularly serious case of theft.
Another individual, a 32-year-old Polish citizen, was found driving his BMW despite a multi-month driving ban and a driving prohibition in Germany. This incident led to his arrest and conviction for driving under the influence. After paying the total fine of 2,262.60 euros, he was released and reported for suspected illegal entry and driving without a license. Due to exceeding the allowed tourist stay duration and an expired residence permit, he was denied entry and sent back to Poland.
A 39-year-old Polish citizen was caught by federal police officers at Görlitz station on Saturday around 16:00 for being drunk. It was also discovered that this individual lacked the 150 euros to pay a fine and was found to have a revoked right to enter and reside in Germany from summer 2023. The authority responsible for the deportation of this individual after serving their sentence is generally the police, as the executing agency for deportation measures in Germany.
In a separate incident, three individuals (24, 27, and 32 years old, with nationalities not specified) were detained during temporary border controls at the Neiße rest area on Sunday. The 24-year-old owed a 1,050-euro bill to the Bamberg Regional Court for property damage. An investigation was initiated for suspected violation of the Freedom of Movement Act.
