Weekend Traffic Regulations Implemented in Eifel Region
On Sunday, September 7, 2025, the traffic division of the Aachen Police was active in the Eifel region. The Aachen Police, in collaboration with a team from traffic accident prevention and victim protection, conducted speed checks in various towns and locations to ensure compliance with traffic regulations.
The speed checks were carried out on the B258, L166, and B266 in the towns of Monschau and Simmerath, as well as in locations where a route ban was in effect. A total of 25 motorcyclists were found to have ignored the route ban and received warning fines.
In Monschau, a speed check on the B258 resulted in 47 motorcyclists and 155 car drivers being caught speeding. The fastest motorcyclist in Monschau was doing 137 km/h instead of the permitted 70 km/h.
In Simmerath, five motorcycles and 23 cars were caught speeding. The fastest motorcyclist in Simmerath was doing 75 km/h instead of the permitted 50 km/h. No new information was provided about the speed of any motorists during these traffic enforcement actions.
It is worth noting that the Aachen Police did not provide information about any penalties or fines issued for speeding violations in the previous speed checks. Moreover, the speed checks were not mentioned to be part of a larger operation or campaign.

The Aachen Police's traffic accident prevention/victim support unit was also involved in these traffic enforcement actions.
The Aachen Police continued to enforce traffic regulations in the Eifel region, emphasising the importance of road safety and adherence to speed limits.
