Weekly deadlines set for 8th of September to 14th of September

In the heart of Saxony, Chemnitz has been bustling with activity as Mayor Sven Schulze has been at the helm of various events and initiatives. Here's a round-up of some of the notable happenings in the city over the past week.

On Tuesday, 9 September, Mayor Schulze participated in the SPORTS UNITED Awards 2025 as the event's patron. The following day, he welcomed participants of the European Peace Ride upon their arrival at the Jutta-Müller-Eissportzentrum.

On Wednesday, 10 September, the day was filled with engagements for Mayor Schulze. He opened the "Saskia Solution Day" house fair alongside Uwe Kielhorn, the Managing Director of Saskia Information Systems GmbH. Later in the day, he also welcomed the Saxon large sports clubs to their work meeting in Chemnitz. In the evening, he opened the 3rd Lukas Stern Benefizgala at Kraftverkehr Chemnitz.

Meanwhile, Mayor Dagmar Ruscheinsky was also active. She participated in the unveiling of the memorial plaques "Great Chemnitzers" by the Rotary Club at the Red Tower on Sunday, 14 September. On the same day, she delivered a greeting at the kick-off event for the "7th Stefan Heym Competition for Young Literature" at the Aula of the Karl-Schmidt-Rottliff-Gymnasium.

In a separate event, Mayor Ruscheinsky and the Migration Commissioner of the City of Chemnitz, Etelka Kobuß, invited the media to a press conference on the occasion of the Intercultural Weeks.

Mayor Schulze also played a significant role on Sunday, 14 September, as he opened the Day of Open Heritage in Saxony at the festive event of the Saxon State Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development.

Other notable events in Chemnitz during this period included the economic dialogue on the European Peace Ride in Passau, which Silvana Bergk, Head of the Business Area Economy, participated in. The "Long Night of Training" took place at die fabrik, and the press conference for the city council meeting on September 24 was scheduled for 9:30 AM at the Aula, Karl-Schmidt-Rottluff-Gymnasium.

Lastly, on Wednesday, 10 September, Mayor Ralph Burghart presented anniversary checks for study circle scholarships to three children and young people on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Study Circle Chemnitz.
