Berlin and Brandenburg residents can expect a mix of rain, clearings, and local thunderstorms today, according to the German Weather Service (DWD).

Thick clouds with intermittent rain will move over the region in the morning, with local fog or mist fields possible during the night until Wednesday. From midday, the rain will ease from the west. The rain will remain along the Oder and Neiße rivers until late afternoon.

Meteorologist Trippler, who deals with the weather forecasts for the rest of the week in Berlin and Brandenburg, has issued this forecast. The relevant department is part of the Deutsche Wetterdienst (German Weather Service), which issues regional weather forecasts including for Berlin and Brandenburg.

The weather pattern will include clearings and local thunderstorms. Gusts of wind up to 60 kilometers per hour are possible during these thunderstorms. Residents should be aware that these thunderstorms could bring locally heavy rain of up to 20 liters per square meter in a short time.

In the evening, the risk of individual thunderstorms increases in the west of Brandenburg. Temperatures today will reach 20 to 24 degrees, making it a cool but comfortable day.

On Wednesday, it will remain mostly dry with partly cloudy skies. The rain will decrease in the west part of Berlin and Brandenburg from midday. In the night to Wednesday, the showers will ease.

On Wednesday, temperatures will rise to summery 23 to 27 degrees. There is a risk of local thunderstorms in the evening in Berlin and Brandenburg.

Looking ahead, the DWD predicts a changeable weather pattern for Wednesday. On Thursday, the weather will often be sunny, with temperatures reaching up to 29 degrees.
