Speed Control Week in Reutlingen, Esslingen, Tübingen, and Zollernalb Yields Thousands of Speeding Offenses
A speed control week held in the districts of Reutlingen, Esslingen, Tübingen, and Zollernalb resulted in more than 6,000 speeding offenses, according to the Police Headquarters Reutlingen. The week-long campaign aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding and to reduce speed levels in the region.
The speed-prone stretches in the mentioned districts were intensively monitored during the speed control week. Most of the detected speed violations were recorded by light barrier measuring devices and measuring trailers. Approximately 360 drivers were measured with laser hand measuring devices and immediately confronted with the speeding offense.
One of the most severe cases was a 21-year-old driver of an Alfa Romeo who was measured at 147 km/h on the B10 at Wernau, where the speed limit is 80 km/h. This driver faces a two-month driving ban and a substantial fine of around 600 euros.
Nine traffic accidents last year in the area of responsibility of the Police Headquarters Reutlingen were caused by or contributed to by excessive speed, accounting for almost a quarter of the fatal accidents. The authorities are taking these statistics seriously and continue to carry out speed controls to improve road safety in the region.
The traffic police and police stations in the area of responsibility of the Police Headquarters Reutlingen participated in the speed controls. The speed controls were done in close coordination with the districts and municipalities.

It is worth noting that around 960 drivers can expect a fine and points in Flensburg due to their speeding offenses. Additionally, 40 drivers were so fast that they face a driving ban.
