Fire in Heringsdorf: Police Appeal for Witnesses
A fire broke out in an abandoned kiosk on Friedensstraße, Heringsdorf, on August 16, 2025. The incident was reported to the Integrated Rescue Control Center Vorpommern Greifswald at around 00:30 hours.
The fire was extinguished by the volunteer fire departments of Heringsdorf, Ahlbeck, and Benz, with a total of 38 personnel. However, parts of the facade and the roof of the kiosk were damaged, causing approximately 10,000 euros in property damage.
An investigation has been opened for suspected arson, and the police are appealing to the public for help. Witnesses with information about unusual observations or potential suspects are urged to contact the Heringsdorf Police Station.
