Witnesses Sought by Police: Violent Incident Post-Football Match Results in Assault of Two Men
In the quiet streets of Offenbach, two incidents of property damage and a theft have left local residents puzzled, while the authorities are investigating a potential connection between the events.
Between Sunday morning at 6 AM and Monday afternoon at 3 PM, an SUV, a white Kia Sportage, sustained significant damage in a traffic accident on "Im Ellenbügel", a street with single-digit house numbers. The driver, who fled the scene without stopping, left the vehicle with approximately 1,000 euros worth of damage. Witnesses report that the individuals involved in the accident were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts.
On Monday morning, around 3:30 AM, in the courtyard with 30s house numbers on "Am Heckenborn", unknown individuals tampered with a Skoda Enyaq. The perpetrators made off with the vehicle's registration certificate and also stole a perfume worth around 100 euros from the car. A third person, dressed similarly, was present at a distance, observing the surroundings and likely acting as a lookout during the incident.
Meanwhile, the perpetrators of a violent assault after a football match on July 22 in Offenbach remain unknown. The police are investigating the case of dangerous bodily harm and are searching for witnesses, but no suspects have been publicly identified yet.
The motives behind the threats during a walk in Langen are still unclear. The Criminal Police is also investigating a possible connection between these incidents and the two reported cases in Offenbach.
