Witnessing: Umrah Pilgrims Perform Maghrib Prayer in Hefty Rainfall at the Kaaba
The Saudi Arabian National Center for Meteorology issued a yellow alert for the Makkah region on Saturday, warning of moderate rain, active winds, and reduced horizontal visibility. Despite the unstable weather, the atmosphere remained calm and reverent as Umrah pilgrims continued their prayers around the Kaaba.
The authority advised residents and pilgrims to remain cautious during the yellow alert, as such conditions could affect outdoor activities and road safety. Many pilgrims shielded themselves from the rain with scarves or prayer mats, while others used umbrellas.
A video shared by Haramain on X captured Umrah pilgrims in Makkah adjusting to heavy rain during Maghrib prayer. Sheikh Maher Al Muaiqly led the prayer, which was undeterred by the rainfall. The video footage shows pilgrims praying in unison, adding a dreamy ambience to the prayer moment. Another video footage showed the wet marble white floors after the rain.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) in Saudi Arabia did not issue a red alert, as previously reported. The Makkah Clock Tower was not mentioned to have lit up in the current paragraph. The authority did not provide any information about any UAE citizen passing away in Makkah after Umrah, or any information about any fatal accident related to an Umrah pilgrim's son.
The Saudi Arabian National Center for Meteorology is responsible for issuing weather alerts to ensure the safety of residents and pilgrims in the Makkah area. The yellow alert serves as a reminder for everyone to stay vigilant during inclement weather and to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
