Woman in her mid-30s flees scene after intentionally crashing vehicle into an open field
In a surprising turn of events, a missing woman was found on Sunday evening in a fast-food restaurant on Hammer Landstraße in Werl. The woman, aged 38, had been reported missing in connection with an unusual traffic accident between Werl-Holtum and Tiggesloh.
The incident began on Sunday evening at 6 PM, when another Renault was found stuck in a field along Tiggesloh street. The vehicle had driven off the road, over a ditch, and onto a field before coming to a stop. A person was inside the vehicle but did not respond to attempts to get their attention.
The police initiated a hit-and-run investigation following the incident. Given her psychological state, it was assumed she would return home soon. However, further search measures were undertaken due to concerns about her potential injuries. These included the use of a police dog and a helicopter.
Earlier in the day, on Sunday morning at 05:15 AM, a vehicle was found on a field along Der Breite Weg street in Werl-Holtum. No one was found in the vehicle at the second location.
Further investigations revealed that the driver of the Renault could be the same 38-year-old woman from Lünen who was found later in the day. The woman was taken to the nearest hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.
