Woman perished in car accident in Primorye region
In a tragic event that occurred on the 67th kilometer of the "Rudnaya Pristan - Terney" highway in Primorye, a fatal traffic accident took place. The incident involved a Toyota Sequoia SUV traveling towards Rudnaya Pristan.
According to the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry for Primorye, the accident occurred on the highway. The driver of the car was a 47-year-old man, accompanied by two female passengers aged 41 and 60.
Unfortunately, the 60-year-old woman in the back seat was not wearing a seat belt during the accident. As a result, she sustained severe injuries and later died in the intensive care unit of a district hospital. The man was unharmed, while the 41-year-old woman suffered a neck injury.
The other participants in the incident - the driver and the 41-year-old passenger - were wearing seat belts. This unfortunate incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of using seat belts, a message recently reiterated by the Russian Traffic Police.
In accordance with the RF Code of Administrative Offenses, failure to wear a seat belt for an unbelted passenger results in a fine of 500 rubles (Article 12.29). For the driver, the fine is 1,500 rubles (Article 12.6).
A photograph of the accident scene was taken by the Primorye Police, underscoring the gravity of the incident. The Russian Traffic Police urge everyone to prioritise safety on the roads and always wear their seat belts.
