The Grand Est region is set to welcome the reopening of Line 14, a significant development in public transportation, scheduled for December 2027. This modern maintenance and parking center in Mirecourt, built by NGE, will serve as the operational hub for 65 employees during the line's operation.

Recruitment for the regeneration of Line 14 will commence from August 26 to October 9, 2025, with 24 public works multi-skilled worker positions up for grabs. The recruitment process will be organized in collaboration with France Travail and Employment Houses.

Priority will be given to a "professional integration" public, who will undergo a six-week training programme, funded by France Travail. Experienced profiles will also have the opportunity to apply for positions of responsibility from mid-2026.

The reopened Line 14 will offer 30 daily round trips, connecting 12 stations over 75 km, with a journey time of 1h10 between Nancy and Contrexéville. Around 500,000 passengers are expected each year on this line.

The project aligns with a circular economy approach, using 18,000 tons of recycled materials. The center will boast 1,500 m² of parking, 300 m² of photovoltaic panels, and a centralized control post.

Line 14 is the first in France to be rehabilitated under an integrated concession model, with the Grand Est Region, Nova 14 (concessionaire), NGE Concessions, Transdev, and Banque des Territoires involved in the project.

Transdev, the company responsible for the operation of Line 14, is committed to gender diversity and will implement a specific recruitment device to facilitate access for women to railway professions. Five major professions will be at the heart of the recruitment: train driver, supervisor agent (circulation, operations, and passenger information), rolling stock maintenance agent, infrastructure maintenance agent, and customer relations agent.

After their selection, candidates will benefit from training provided by Transdev. The device to help candidates prepare will start in the second semester of 2026, and a specific accompaniment will help candidates prepare, notably for the professions of driver and maintenance.

The redesign of Line 14 focuses on performance, safety, and decarbonization of mobility. The search results do not contain information about the candidates for the training of drivers for Line 14 provided by Transdev or the schedule for the training. However, it is expected that more details will be revealed as the project progresses.

Stay tuned for updates on this exciting development in public transportation in the Grand Est region!
