Work underway in Isargestade for operational oil or gas transport infrastructure
The construction on Isargestade and Stadtwerke (inbound) has commenced, with the Isargestade currently closed for the duration of the project. Motorists are asked to observe closure and detour signs, no-parking zones, and bypass the construction site accordingly.
During the first phase, the construction is focused on the area between Podewilsstraße and Johann-Weiß-Weg. Despite the disruption, access for residents from Podewilsstraße to Johann-Weiß-Weg/Litschengasse remains unchanged, and pedestrians and cyclists can pass throughout the construction period.
A temporary bus stop will be set up in front of the main building of the Stadtwerke, while bus lines 7, X3, 501, and 530 are being rerouted. The detour for these bus lines is via the stops Postplatz and Am Alten Viehmarkt.
Residents can drive from Zweibrukenstraße to the parking lot of Deutsche Rentenversicherung/Ussar-Villa during the first phase. However, the second phase of construction, which requires a closure between Zweibrukenstraße and Johann-Weiß-Weg, has not yet begun.
When the second phase starts, traffic will be rerouted via multiple routes, including Podewilsstraße - Schlachthofstraße - Stethaimerstraße - John-F.-Kennedy-Platz - Seligenthaler Straße - Bismarckplatz - Zweibrukenstraße, and via Podewilsstraße - Am Alten Viehmarkt - Bischof-Sailer-Platz - Heilig-Geist-Gasse - Postplatz and Zweibrukenstraße.
It's important to note that the construction affects not only vehicular and pedestrian traffic but also public transportation. Access for residents remains free during the construction.
The two construction phases for the closure of the Isargestade between Zweibrückenstraße and Johann-Weiß-Weg begin on Wednesday, September 3, and end on Wednesday, October 15. The rerouting of traffic via multiple routes still applies, but the bus detour is an additional adjustment.
Motorists are reminded to be patient and to follow the closure and detour signs, ensuring a smooth flow of traffic and a safe construction environment for all.
