Worker in Kamchatka successfully secured their wages following an appeal to the labour supervision body.

In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Kamchatka Krai, an industrial accident occurred on December 3, 2024, involving an employee of the "Riera Fleet" company. The incident, which was reported by Kam24 news, took place while the worker was inspecting a well in the engine room of a vessel.

As a result of the incident, the worker suffered a burn on his hand from steam. The man turned to the labor inspectorate due to the employer's lack of action in addressing the accident.

Following the incident, the labor inspectorate became involved in the resolution of the matter. They found that the employer had violated labor safety requirements and ordered them to draw up an appropriate act and send a copy to the victim.

In addition, the employer was ordered to provide insurance coverage for industrial accidents, a measure that they subsequently complied with. However, it was revealed that they did not conduct an investigation into the incident.

The worker was allowed to return to work without undergoing mandatory medical examination, psychiatric examination, and safety training. This lack of precautions has raised concerns, and the question of holding responsible parties administratively liable for labor law violations is being considered.

In a positive development, it was reported that the man received compensation for his work-related injury in Kamchatka Krai. The agency also initiated an additional investigation into the incident to ensure that all parties involved are held accountable for their actions.

The management of LLC "Riera Fleet" has been identified as responsible for the violation of labor law regulations in connection with the accident of their employee in December 2024 in Kamchatka. The company's failure to provide necessary personal protective equipment and adhere to safety regulations has raised serious questions about their commitment to the well-being of their employees.
