WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Returns in 2025

Get ready for an exciting poker event as the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star makes its comeback in 2025. This popular tournament, known for its unique bounty format, will take place at the Bay 101 Casino in San Jose, California from October 17 to November 2.

A Legendary Tournament

The Shooting Star tournament has been a staple of Bay 101 events, attracting top talent and amateur players alike. Renowned for featuring notable players as "Shooting Stars," each with a bounty on their head, the tournament adds an extra layer of excitement and challenge.

Bounty Format

In this tournament, each starting table includes at least one Shooting Star, a well-known player with a $2,500 bounty on their head. Eliminating these players earns the winner a cash prize in addition to whatever they win from the tournament itself.

Gameplay

The tournament typically involves No-Limit Hold'em, with players competing through a series of rounds until the final table is reached. The highlight of the festival is the $5,300 Shooting Star Championship, scheduled from October 24-28.

Day 1 chip leaders will receive a $5,000 bonus, and chip leaders of each Day 1 starting flight in the Shooting Star Championship earn a $5,000 bonus. The televised final table will be held at a later date in Las Vegas.

Some confirmed Shooting Stars for the 2025 tournament include Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi, Phil Hellmuth, Jeff Platt, David "ODB" Baker, Xuan Liu, Faraz Jaka, David Williams, Tyler Patterson, Kenna James, and Shannon Shorr.

The WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star is expected to attract WPT champions, bracelet winners, and other well-known poker players, making it an event not to be missed. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting tournament!
