Young attendees captivated by Gofreebooks, a Turkish platform, at the 62nd Annual ISNA Convention held in Chicago, USA.
In the bustling city of Chicago, the 62nd Annual Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) Convention took place from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1, serving as a platform to celebrate Islamic culture and knowledge. Among the exhibitors that drew significant attention was gofreebooks.com, a free online platform for Islamic literature, and Tughra Books, which offered free works of Islamic literature, captivating visitors with their cultural treasures.
Gofreebooks.com, which also garnered attention at the Ghana International Book Fair, offers books in over 50 languages, making them accessible to a diverse audience. The platform operates under the principle that religious knowledge is not subject to copyright, emphasising that Islamic knowledge belongs to everyone.
At the ISNA Convention 2025, numerous works by renowned Islamic scholars were on display at the Gofreebooks booth. Young attendees were pleasantly surprised as many books were offered as gifts. This generous gesture added to the platform's appeal and helped to introduce the cultural treasures from Gofreebooks to a wider audience.
Tughra Books, too, made a special appearance at the convention, offering free works of Islamic literature. This move undoubtedly contributed to the success of their appearance, as it drew the attention of visitors seeking knowledge and cultural enrichment.
Historically, fees were applied only when custom manuscripts were requested or specific printing and paper costs were involved. This tradition was maintained throughout the Islamic world, especially during the Ottoman era. Today, institutions like the Suleymaniye Manuscripts Library, the Nuruosmaniye Library, and the Beyazit Library in Türkiye house original copies of classic works by prominent Islamic scholars, such as Imam Rabbani (Ahmad Sirhindi), Imam Muhammad al-Ghazali, and Muhammad Amin Ibn Abidin.
Huseyin Hilmi Isik's works, published by Hakikat Bookstore, are also part of this rich literary heritage. The works cover the core teachings of Islam as presented by historic Muslim scholars, providing valuable insights into the faith's history and teachings.
