The Federal Administration of Public Administration in Münster imparts theoretical knowledge to new recruits, preparing them for a career with the CUSTOMS. In March 2025, seven new recruits started their higher service studies at the Main Customs Office Braunschweig.

For those interested in joining the CUSTOMS, there are opportunities available. The Main Customs Office Braunschweig is accepting applications for dual studies with a recruitment date on March 1, 2026, until April 15, 2025. Interested parties can also apply for a two-year training program with the same recruitment date, with the application deadline set for October 15, 2025.

The CUSTOMS offers a secure future in a large federal administration with a variety of employment areas. The spectrum of potential employment areas includes case processing, special units, financial control of undeclared work, and customs investigation. Upon completing the dual studies, the young customs officers can expect employment in diverse areas of the CUSTOMS.

The three-year dual studies at the Main Customs Office Braunschweig involve alternating theoretical and practical phases. The practical phases are spent in various areas of the Main Customs Office Braunschweig, its six customs offices, and other outsourced locations.
