Youth firefighters in VdF-NRW initiate a conservation effort targeted towards native avian species
In North Rhine-Westphalia, a region in Germany, an innovative project is underway that brings together nature conservation and pedagogy. The Haus Hall Foundation in Gescher, in collaboration with the youth fire brigade NRW, has developed nesting box assembly kits as part of a species protection project for native birds.
This project, which encourages young people to actively engage in group projects related to nature conservation, is intended to educate young firefighters about the importance of preserving the bird population. The didactic materials for this project are provided by the state business office of the youth fire brigade NRW, available on their homepage www.jf.nrw.
Gani Arouna Sidikou, deputy state youth fire brigade leader of the youth fire brigade NRW, explains the combination of practical nature conservation and pedagogical elements in the project. He highlights how this initiative promotes team spirit and craftsmanship among young firefighters.
The project, supported by the NRW Foundation, offers youth fire brigades in North Rhine-Westphalia the opportunity to order three different assembly kits for nesting boxes. The high demand for these kits indicates the great interest and commitment of the youth fire brigades in nature conservation. Regrettably, the kits are currently sold out.
Press inquiries about the project should be directed to the Association of Fire Brigades in NRW e.V., located at Windhukstraße 8, 42277 Wuppertal. Their contact information includes email: [email protected], telephone: Tel.: 0202 317712-00, and website: http://www.vdf-nrw.de.
The original content of this article was transmitted via news aktuell by the Association of Fire Brigades in NRW e. V. It is worth noting that during the mentioned project, Ralph Timmermans, the chairman of the youth fire brigade in North Rhine-Westphalia, was honoured for his 23 years of intensive youth work by the Youth Fire Brigade NRW. However, Steffen Morjan is noted as the new district youth fire brigade warden (Kreisjugendfeuerwehrwart) appointed in Heinsberg district.
This project, by combining practical nature conservation with pedagogical elements, is making an important contribution to species protection through cooperation with the NRW Foundation and the workshops of Haus Hall. It serves as a testament to the dedication of young firefighters in North Rhine-Westphalia to the cause of nature conservation.
