"ZDF airs the 2025 sports finals": The 2025 sports finals will be broadcast on ZDF and its sister channel.
The much-anticipated Finals 2025 in Dresden, Germany, kicks off on July 31 and continues until August 3, 2025. This multisport event will see approximately 3,500 athletes competing in 20 sports, and ZDF will be there to bring you all the action.
The broadcast begins on Friday, August 1, at 10:15 AM, with the men's triathlon. Throughout the afternoon, viewers can look forward to switching between nine sports venues in Dresden, as the day's schedule includes fencing, coastal rowing, rhythmic gymnastics, canoeing, gymnastics, rugby, and more. The "sportstudio live" show will start at 2:05 PM with the men's and women's multi-event athletics.
Lena Kesting will guide viewers through the two "Finals" days on ZDF, with the new ZDF athletics presenter, Maral Bazargani, joining her. ZDF expert Ronald Rauhe, a two-time Olympic canoe champion, considers the Finals to be like small national Olympic Games.
The Finals 2025 is centrally located in Dresden, near the Elbe, and ZDF will have a stand and the "sportstudio" goal wall at the Sportpark Ostra. In addition, ZDF will send the Mainzelmännchen walker to the nearby athletics stadium.
On Sunday, August 3, the championship competitions from Dresden will be broadcast from 10:15 AM to 7:00 PM. The championships in athletics, canoeing, and gymnastics will also be a part of the ZDF program on this day. The final day of the Finals 2025 will be broadcast on ZDF for over eight hours.
Viewers can also enjoy live streaming of the event on sportstudio.de from 10:00 AM on the competition days. Approximately 100 hours of live streaming will be available on the senders' web and app platforms. Lena Kesting and Maral Bazargani will be accompanied by expert athletes at the ZDF coverage of the Finals 2025 in Dresden, although the specific names of the athletes serving as experts alongside them are not yet confirmed.
ZDF Sports Director Yorck Polus is excited about presenting the diversity of German high-performance sports at the Finals 2025. Alongside the sports mentioned above, other sports featured in the ZDF broadcast on August 3 include flag football, speed climbing, breaking, badminton, archery, rowing, and basketball 3x3.
The swimming pool events at the World Championships in Singapore will be shown on sportstudio.de from 1:00 PM. Overall, the Finals 2025 - Dresden will award 133 German championship titles, making it an event not to be missed. ARD and ZDF will broadcast more than 30 hours of the competition in their main programs.
